In March 2023, Wild North Comics travelled to Katherine for a group exhibition at the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre.
This exhibition featured our largest retrospective of Wild North Comics artists including work from Jonathon Saunders, Dani Heilbronn, DanHartney, Mat Selwyn, Tim Molloy, Ariel Racines, Pius Bak, Timothy Parish, Anneke Putri, Rosharn Deslandes, Levin Diatschenko, Shilo McNamee, Theofilos Rigas & Franck Gohier.
Wild North Comics also ran a comic making workshop with young artists which resulted in the first collection of BIG RIVER COMICS!

Born To Be Wild
CITY OF DARWIN LIGHTBOX EXHIBITION In March, Wild North Comics launched an installation across Dar win City alongside the fifth issue of Wild North Comics anthology. Artworks were installed in Smith St Mall, Dragonfly Carpark in Darwin CBD and the Nightcliff Pool for six months with video in terviews of artists available online. The exhibition featured art by Jonathon Saunders, Dan Hartney, Mat Selwyn, Rosharn Deslan des, Ariel Racines, Timothy Parish, Theofilos Rigas, Todd Williams , Emmanuelle Aliotti and Anneke Putri. BLAK POWER
50 YEARS OF FIRST NATIONS SUPERHEROES IN AUSTRALIAN ART.

Wild North Comics partnered with the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art for their blockbuster retrospective: BLAK POWER - 50 Years of First Nations Superheroes in Australian Art. The exhibition featured leading First nations creators exploring the superhero mythos including Wild North Comics co-founder Jonathon Saunders alongside leading contemporary artists Tony Albert, Karla Dickens, Layne Dhu-Dickie, Dennis Golding, Molly Hunt, Emily Johnson, Dylan Mooney, Donovan Mota, Ray Mudjandi, Kaylene Whiskey and work by Basically Black, Redback Graphic Iwantja Young Women’s Film Project & Neomad.
Wild North Comics also produced the BLAK POWER art catalogue featuring an essay on the history of Indigenous representation in comics by Jonathon Saunders (creator of Zero-Point) and Aboriginal Timeline in Comic Books and Capes by Luke Pearson (IndigenousX).

WILD NORTH COMICS curated an art exhibition at DARWIN VISUAL ARTS GALLERY as part of the DARWIN FRINGE FESTIVAL 2022 to showcase the work from the comic and help artists earn more income from the sale of their work in a pop-art context.
